Eid al-Adha, the festival of sacrifice, honors the willingness of the prophet Abraham to submit to God’s will. It honors Abraham as a person committed to obeying God and conscience, whose teachings and example became foundational for Islam, Christianity, and Judaism.
On this occasion, and to mark the end of the time of hajj (pilgrimage), Muslims often donate food to the less fortunate.
This year Eid al-Adha will fall on Sunday, November 6.
Eid Mubarak—Happy Eid!
